Monitor Mode FAQ
This page is a rough breakdown on what monitor mode is, what it does and when it is useful.
First off: What does Monitor Mode do?
Monitor Mode allows you to select single products you want to cop from supported sites (e.g. a specific GPU model like 3060TI). As soon as this item goes into stock, it will automatically start a browser session trying to check out said item.
Do I risk getting flagged by running Monitor Mode?
No. Monitor mode doesn't ping the site directly but gets information on in stock items from a solution on our side, without single clients having to ping the site constantly. Once the product is in stock, it starts the same session you're starting when clicking a link from a Discord monitor.
When is Monitor Mode useful?
Obviously, you do not have to keep the Monitor Mode running while you're at home / at your PC, since then you can also start manually and probably have a better control over what's happening than our auto-start has. It is useful for people who are at work, in school or uni or for some other reason are not at their PC during a possible drop day. It is NOT recommended to run Monitor Mode 24/7, since drops do not happen over night and thus only uses unecessary resources from your PC (which deserves to cool down from time to time ;)).
Is Monitor Mode coming for mobile devices?
No. Since mobile devices are not used for running such a task permanently we will not add this feature to mobile devices. The whole purpose of it is running it over an extended period of being AFK / out of home and thus having this on a mobile device doesn't make sense.
